PONTOTOC COUNTY, Okla. – The community is mourning the loss of Joel Wallace III, 23, of Springtown, Texas, who passed away from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Saturday, April 4th.
The fatal accident occurred on State Highway 377 near County Road 1540. According to official reports, the vehicle left the roadway and overturned two and a half times. The violent crash ejected two of the occupants. While three passengers survived with injuries, Joel Wallace, the driver, did not survive.
Authorities confirmed that not all individuals in the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident, underscoring a critical safety reminder. The crash remains under investigation.
