Cedar Lake Grocery Shares Mourns Passing of Charles Parent:In Loving Memory Of Charles Parent

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Charles “Scott” Parent, who left us peacefully at home on April 3rd, surrounded by his loving family. Scott was a man of many cherished roles: a devoted husband to his wife, Carole; a loving father and grandfather; a dedicated former police officer; and, to our community, the proud and heartwarming owner of Cedar Lake Grocery.

In 1987, Scott and Carole opened “Scotty’s” Cedar Lake Grocery, and in doing so, they built far more than a store—they built a cornerstone for Greenbush. Scott’s kindness, quick humor, and unwavering work ethic touched every person who walked through the doors. He wasn’t just a shopkeeper; he was a friend, a confidant, and the steady heartbeat of this community. He will be forever remembered for his incredible generosity, his captivating stories, and, of course, the joy found in his famous donuts.

We are endlessly grateful for the love and countless memories he gifted to all of us. As we navigate this immense loss, we humbly ask for your thoughts and prayers for our family.

A full obituary will follow, with arrangements entrusted to Buresh Funeral Home. If you have a story, a picture, or a favorite memory of Scott, we invite you to share it. In this difficult time, our family draws strength from the warmth of this community he loved so deeply. Thank you for honoring his memory.
